Synopsis:  The Bundanoon Community Association first learned of the Community Geographic Domain Name Initiative after being invited to attend a workshop through the Wingecarribee Shire Council. According to website coordinator Geoff Stewart, the website has been averaging 1000 hits and between 80-100 visits a day.

What they say:  "The most popular sections of the website include the events calendar, followed by the Jordan’s Crossing Gazette page (a local community magazine). I have found that most people use the website for information about what is happening in town, hence the popularity of the events calendar."

"The benefits that have come out of the website are mainly related to publicity/marketing for events and activities, such as the recent Garden Ramble and Winter-fest 2008, as well as promoting working bees for the Bundanoon Green Team," said Mr. Stewart.

Advice for other communities:  "I would recommend anyone thinking of setting up a community website to get a commitment from a team of volunteers to find content for the website, not only for when it is initially launched but also for keeping the website interesting. One of the most challenging parts of maintaining a community website is to keep it relevant and up-to-date," said Mr. Stewart.
